What a Wonderful New Day!

I spent most of Sunday being compelely insulted by a comment that was made about the new incoming President. Suffice to say, there is a whole population that lost their lives making America what it is today. To criticize anyone (much less the new leader of the free world) laying a wreath, and paying respect to the forgotten is just below good taste.

With that said, and I had to get that off my chest, I spent all of Tuesday close to the TV. What I saw was Hope! Hope is so powerful! What a sight to see history being made. What a time to witness an African American becoming the leader of our country. Our country that would not have let that man drink from the same water fountain that my mom would have been able to drink from. This is a moment in our history that we were allowed to witness and how blessed we are to watch! Although I do not share some of the political beliefs that Mr. Obama has, I have hope that he will make wise choices that reflect the vision that the majority of America envisions. It will take time, it will take patience, it will be a struggle. I thought that the entire day was filled with class.

Beyond the President, I have been a busy bee. I have spent more time in the family doctor's office than I care to ever do again. I have spent like each day almost doing something for GG or my family. They will soon, I am sure offer me a job. I will once again grace the doors of Dr. B's office for the next two days. Today the kids go in for their yearly check ups. I love their check ups, seeing how they have grown, what I can expect. And the fact that I do not have to go to a germy Peds office is so GREAT! Then on Thursday, it is my turn for a check up. Not so fun-but a must.

I must say that GG has calmed down, is at home and her sitter service is a heavens send! What a help they are. There is NO way that GG could be at home without help! If anyone in the Mid TN area needs a sitter service for any non-medical reason, CALL ME! I can hook you up!

I suppose I am headed back to church this evening! Kids will be mad that they must sing again. I do not ask much, just to behave and sing in children's choir. We shall see.

Hey Shannon, Try not to be offended at that comment. I really don't think it was made in a racial context, but more of what he personally represents. I think most Americans and our family members are happy that the day has come that an African American has been elected to be in the presidential office and that we all really do have equal opportunities. It's just that he represents very liberal ideas and has been linked to lots of questionable people that do not represent the Christian Values that this country was founded on. A pretty scary thing...I think. But we shall see, our only hope is the Lord and in prayer at this point.
