And the Tenting Goes on......

Lunch Time
Movie Time
My Tent City
John and Carson
Noah and EE

Happy Monday Readers!

I hope that this day was a good one for you all! I had a great day, among many other events, the HI today was 81! Yep it is almost July and I live in Tennessee and the HI today was 81! That my friends is HEAVEN to me. So since it was 81, I went for a work out, (I start with my trainer again on Tues) then I went and gave Sarah the day off-kind of-( I left Elizabeth at home because she needs mommy) But I got Carson and Noah for the day. The kids set up Tent City in my backyard. My neighbors probably think that I have kicked out nate and the kids. They played with the tents, played their DS's in the tents and then came in for a movie. We had a great day! Tomorrow is going to be 85 which is not my favorite but I suppose we shall do something outside again.

Nathan headed back to work today. I called him once and asked if his peeps were happy to have him back. He said yes, well I know for a fact that they were not-not because of him or anything just because it is always nice to have the "boss" away for a week. That way you can get some things done. But, he has returned. But it is only a FOUR day week. And you all know, he loves work!

And in other news, Nashville Star is on....I DO NOT watch it, but, as far as I know, it is not even filmed in Nashville so why is it "Nashville Star" when it has NOTHING to do with Nashville?

Just a questions.

Smooches.

Check out my Slide Show!

Slide Included

So I am really trying to make an effort at this Blogging thing.

-BUT-

I cannot figure most of how to do this thing. I wanted to have a slide show with text, that did not work, so now I am adding the text. We went yesterday and bought a four person tent. WHY do we need a tent? Well I have NO idea but the kids (all three of them) had alot of fun putting it up this afternoon. I think that I will try camping in the fall, when it is not HOT!

Anyway, I am going to TRY and do a slideshow of our vacation to San Antonio. I hope to have it posted in the morning. Hope you enjoy!

Almost Ready

My kids are home, Nathan is tucked away at work and I am still organizing for the trip. My mom thinks that I am a carefree person who is laid back and has no Type A in my bones. Well I do own a lable maker, I often purchase file folders and I keep my planner with me at all times. OK well my planner is a part of my wallet and I always have my wallet. Unless I leave my wallet and for that matter my whole Louis Vuitton purse in the Sams parking lot, in which case, NO I DO NOT have my planner --I digress. I have planned every minute of this vacay. So much so that I have flags on our tickets and brochures. I have everything (almost) color coordinated. I am type A I just don't stress about it. So if Mom will let me be in charge, we should have alot of fun. Do you think I am a control freak? I am I admit. So I think that we can pack the whole fam in 2 large suitcases. Now that American is charging for checking bags, we are sending our bags on Southwest with Nathan and Ethan. Mom, John and I are taking American. Why are we taking 2 flights on 2 Different airlines? No, we are not one of those families, who think that the plane will crash and what happens if we are all on the same plane? We had points on American (free flights) and we had a credit on Southwest for the ski trip that wasn't (almost free flights). We are using Dad's Marriott points for lodging and we are getting discount tickets from the Air Force base in TX. And the last 2 nights we are staying with our friends. Budget trip or what?

Anyhow, I am so happy to know that I have readers. My kids are sleeping and it is 5PM on Friday. This has not happened since they were 2. They have been farming and having fun until they are exhausted. Poor Babies.

Off to cook dinner I suppose. I hope that I can blog while away.

Happy Thursday

It is out 9th anniversary! Nine years ago today at two o'clock in the afternoon-our lives changes. 9 long years ago LONG years ago. We are happy and healthy and looking forward to more happy healthy years. And we are hoping that our ninth year is a little getter than our 8th.

I am not sure if I have any readers but nevertheless, here is another entry. We have been having a WONDERFUL summer. We made it through a rather tough Father's Day. That was a doozy. But we have been pulled up by our boot straps and have resolved to move forward, happily.

I am spending most of this week getting ready for Sea World in San Antonio. Nathan does not know what Moms do to get everyone ready for a vacay. And I, personally cannot stand to come home to a dirty home. SO I begin my cleaning quest in ernest this afternoon. Wish me luck.

How do I have time to clean? The kids are at Nashville Shores with their Aunt B and Daddy T. As well as Christopher and Hannah. I hope that they have fun, are safe and mostly that they behave!

Today I did my second laster hair Treatment. They were doing lypo RIGHT next door to where I was. When I was done-I went in and looked at the place, not bad. The poor lady was in the lobby when I was leaving. I have to say, other than being drugged, she looked good. But I have to say that this time, it hurt worse because I knew what was going to happen. Yep it hurt- but it is over and now I am staying out of the sun and cleaning house.

Now on to the pics instead of my cosmedic proceedures. Yesterday we went to VBS. They attended VBS at their grandparents church. We will be in Sea World when we have VBS at our church. After VBS we went to the Summer Reading Program at the Library. This week they had a magician. He was really good. We are really having a FUN BUSY summer. School starts on July 21st so we have to Hurry and have fun.

Hope you are all are doing well.

Tim Russert

As you all know, Tim Russert died yesterday. He was one of the leading political minds of our day. He gave us a true sense that he LOVED his job and actually had a way of explaining politics that made me listen and take interest.

People just published this article. And since Dad did not have an autopsy (at our request) it brings me some comfort to know that even if dad had had a treadmill test, he could have passed, and still had a heart attack. So we have been upset at dad for not doing what he was supposed to do and we could all still be in the same boat.

PLEASE READ:
Russert's stress test on April 29 was "normal," Newman said. "At a high level of exercise he had no symptoms," Newman said, adding that his blood pressure and cholesterol were "well-controlled." The newsman collapsed while preparing for his show Meet the Press Friday afternoon. Resuscitation attempts began immediately and after the Washington, D.C., paramedics arrived on the scene a full code was initiated, he said. He was taken to Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C., where resuscitation efforts continued to no avail. Studies show that survival is only 4 to 5 percent with sudden cardiac arrest, even with immediate medical attention like Russert had, Newman noted.
His Final MorningDr. Cyril Wecht, a nationally renowned forensic pathologist, said Newman's description of why Russert died makes sense. "The left anterior descending artery is well known among pathologists as the widow-maker," he tells PEOPLE. "That tells you a lot, doesn't it? It's a classical situation that one encounters with great frequency in sudden unexpected death where you get a blood clot, or a thrombosis, or bleeding and if he had an enlarged heart, that adds to it." Clots can be caused by any number of things, he said. "Sometimes it's associated with stress and exertion, physical and/or emotional," he said. "Was he flying a long time? Was he tired? People shoveling snow in the wintertime can get them. People working excessively hard. Or people under great physical and/or emotional stress and that can include flying." Russert had flown in from Italy late Thursday night, where he'd been celebrating his son Luke's recent graduation from Boston College with his son and his wife, Vanity Fair writer Maureen Orth.

I think that this goes back to my thinking that when God decides he needs you home, you have to return to heaven.

Summer has Begun

Oh, It is my favorite time of year. That time of year that you are constantly wiping your brow. Drinking lots of water and making sure that your secret doesn't tell. I HATE SUMMER!.. I would be PERFECTLY happy living in Alaska. But as it is, we have remained in the HOT and HUMID weather of TN. But the kids are having FUN.

We are having a good summer. I deal with the heat by picking indoor activities. And remaining in the pool. Thank goodness that we live in a neighborhood that has two pools to cool off in. So last week we spent quite alot of time in the pool. We spent a couple of afternoons with friends in the water.

Last week the kids spent the mornings at Zoo Crew Camp at the Discovery Center. They had such a good time and learned alot. We also started the Summer Reading Program at the library. The boys feel quite responsible having their own library cards.

I was busy last week conducting interviews at church. I am still on the Weekday Preschool Board. We are hiring a new director. Our director has been with us for 27 years and have pioneered our program to be the best in Rutherford County. We are the ONLY preschool that is both state and nationally accredited. So the new director will have quite a LOT to live up to. But we have a couple of really promissing canidates. We did get a new teacher and some new TA's. Luckily the Board does not have to choose the Director. That JOB is sent to another committee. Such a weight off my shoulders. It is such an honor to serve my church in this capacity.

Monday, I was directing TRAFFIC for church. We had our annual conference and Monday night is was time for ordination. Well just as I stepped from my car to help. The skies opened up and I got SOAKED! But it was fun nontheless.

The kids are getting geared up for Sea World. We have a little over a week until their first flight. They are sooooo excited. I am looking forward to seeing all the animals and visiting with family friends.

Until my next post you can probably find me at the pool.
