We are all alive and well!

Hello!

Since my last blog entry our lives have been sooooo busy! The kids started kindergarten. They are sooo happy to be at their new school. They are so cute walking themselves into school and waiting for me to pick them up once they are done. We even have some homework to do on Tuesday nights for John. It is so exciting to see them growing in their acedemics.

Ethan had his tonsils out the first week of school. As you can imagine he was quite scared at the hospital experience. However he was such a brave little patient and did so well in his recovery.

In other news on the homefront. As most of you know Nathan suffered 2 seizures last Tuesday. One of which was at his work and gave everyone a scare. He spent a night in the CCU of a local hospital and we are now seeing a specialist at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. We are hopeful that Nathan will make a full recovery and continue to lead his active life.

I have been really busy lately with all the excitement. But I hope to add blogging to my schedule once everything calms down.

The above picture is E and J's first day of school!

Kindergarten, Canning and Cutco

Hello Again!

For those of you that have been reading you know that Ethan and John head off to Kindergarten NEXT WEEK! So yesterday and today, their teachers have called to let us know that:
1-they actually have a Kindergarten Teacher
2- to attend the open house at their school on Sunday from 2-3PM

Well-we plan on attending the open house, we are leaving the precious lake early to make it back and see where my kids will start their formal education. HOLD ON TO YOUR HATS!

Ethan will have Mrs. Weaver, she was John's kindercamp teacher and just such a nice person! Really down to earth and really enjoyed having John and she goes to our church, from my understanding she is one of the BEST in the 'Boro!

John will have Mrs. Newman. I do not know her. I will meet her on Sunday. She was really nice to talk to and really is looking forward to meeting John!

They both are really excited to the point that I am a little annoyed that they are looking forward to it sooooooo much!

Nextly, the canning count. My dear husband planted a garden this year at his mom's house. I have never seen SOOOOO many cucumbers and beans in my life. So I decided that I would freeze the beans for winter (do I live on little house on the prarie or what??) and I would learn how to make pickles. And as if that were not enough I got the GRAND idea that I could can some tomatos as well- how hard can it be?? Well it is really not hard, HOT would be the word. Timeconsuming and somewhat dangerous.

So here are the canning counts for Canning season 2007:

12 pints of 5 day pickles-all of the Sallees will remember these once a jar is opened. IT will take you back to Granny's kitchen in a flash
16 pints of Bread and Butter Pickles
3 Quarts of Bread and Butter Pickles
3 Quarts of Dill Pickles
6 quarts of Tomatos
4 Pints of Tomatos

UGH and I am done!

By the way, I havn't the foggiest idea how my Granny did all of this work well up into her LATE 70's and probably early 80's. It is a tremendous amount of work!

I only walked away with one injury. I sliced by finger open this morning. Not that big of a deal and the kids liked seeing that mom can bleed too.

The reason that I sliced by finger is by my estimation I own the best knife in the world! If you have an extra 100 dollars around and you need a knife, get a Cutco. I can only have one and the one that I do have is dangerous and completely the best knife in the world!

Until next time

Dropping the Ball on the Blog

Hello Fellow Lookers on!

I have completely dropped the ball on my blogging. Call it being busy, not owning a camera that works and getting the kids summer break over and heading off to "Big School".

So as promised before, here are a few of the sites that I like to include in my "if I had all the money in the world-I would buy- IT ALL!"

www.wisteria.com
www.anthropologie.com remember not only to look at the clothes but the housewares.
www.kookoobearkids.com fun finds for kids and kid decor
www.amazonia.com wholesale flowers (I used this site for Melissa's wedding and aside from the roses' the quality and price are hard to beat
www.katespade.com I DREAM on her site
www.worldmarket.com something for those of us in the boro to look forward to shopping here.
www.cabelas.com sporting goods that might just beat Bass Pro
www.myshape.com this is a really neat site that pulls all of your measurements in and spits out a list of items that would suit your body and tells you where to shop to get the items!!!
www.tiffany.com not just for the diamonds that no one can afford, but for gifts!
www.giftcertificates.com not sure what to get that special person. you name the price and they can get gift cards from over 100 shops!
www.dlawlesshardware.com this is a no frills site for all hardware need, pulls, knobs and everything under the sun and any metel or material. Quality cannot be beat!
http://www.antiques-architectural.com/ funny story on this site, as most of you know 65 south has been traveled ALOT in my family since we used to live in MS, so the last time we were going to MS, I noticed all of these signs and came home and BOOM! they have a site and can you dream on it or what? It will make you want to redecorate your home at each click!

I am sure that I will have more later, this should keep you busy for now. Happy Surfing!

Hello all!

Well summer is in full swing around here. The kids are out of school, we have gone to the lake, and it is HOT! OK anything over 75 is hot to me!

We had a wonderful long weekend at the lake. We headed out to the lake Friday afternoon and had a dinner on the way. The kids got to ride up to the lake with Granddaddy (my father) and tow the SeaDoo. They LOVED that! On Saturday we had the boat blessed and headed out for a long day on the lake...........well-not so long. Nathan's second attempt to Wake Boards threw out his back. So we actually spent the rest of the day on the couches, with heating pads on Nathan a little Motrin and my Sunday mid morning he was ready to rock and roll. So Sunday we spent a good amount of time on the water. Jason and Sarah and the kids came up for the afternoon, the boys skied (OK they are 5 and skiing!) Monday Kristi and Tracy and their kids came up and we spent all day on the water and managed to BREAK dad's new SeaDoo. We towed it up to Smithville and HOPEFULLY it will be an easy fix! Sorry Dad :)

Anyway it is Wednesday and we are heading out to the pool for some fun after we run errands. The kids are not used to running errands with mommy since I get most of them done while they were at school. It takes more time for Mommy to get things done but it is fun nonetheless. Hey Dad (Nathan) we are also going to TRY to put together the Lawn Furniture.

Until Next Time!
Check back often-I am going to list some really neat sites for you all to check out.

Soccer Is Over For the Season

Well the kids had a wonderful soccer season! We played One Goal Sports this season. What a GREAT program they have here in the "boro! It is a Christian Based program that serves the entire community and is sponsored by our church. The kids got to play with and against many of their friends from pre school and had a really GREAT time! I really think that they learned many of the skills that they did not know! We will be going back to just Karate now as well as swimming at the neighborhood pool and visiting friends.
